The Satay project-101

This Satay Project was started off as an effort by Lydia (Baby Bear) to "appease" our dearest Uncle Edward at church, who is such a wonderful bundle of joy and who loves teasing us about not inviting him to places...erms...such as YL's (Papa bear) birthday party in July.

The House of the Happy Bear had half a week of trialing different satay recipes that were researched by our dedicated Baby Bear. On Monday, we had Thai style satay which i loved because of my penchant for sweetish sourish food. On Tuesday, we had honey type satay which was yum as well. But Papa Bear who wanted to help Baby Bear find the best Satay recipe that will satisfy Uncle Edward's tastebuds went to do his own little research and tada! He found the authentic Singaporean/ Malaysian style Satay recipe online!

It was an awesome blend of spices and flavours, which included tumeric, lemongrass and a whole long list of ingredients that i can't recall! and thanks to the couple's efforts, the chicken meat (it has to be thigh meat definitely!) turned out to be tender and flavoursome! an immensely gratifying food tasting experience!

here's an account of the process from the "i-spy" lens of granny bear:

the thick and delightful satay sauce filled with crunchy peanuts delight. not recommended for people with nuts allergy!
grilling the satay with the compliments of ellie unni's grill (co-owned by daniel oppa who left us! boo hoo...)
the accomplished masterchef number 1 -papa bear
the sweet masterchef number 2-baby bear! she spent the whole morning preparing the meat!
alright, that's all for now on my "i-spy" lens. see you guys again folks!
much love,
granny bear
