ah ha!catch that expression of absolute satisfaction on jade's face? that's the look of one happy girl eagerly anticipating the meat that her dear bf will deliver onto her plate! hahaha...and the look of serious concentration on wally's and ellie's faces are such a hilarious contrast to jade's expression!
mmm...look at the glorious layers of fats on the pork meat before grilling? and the yummy looking char-grilled bits after grilling? oh my, i can't fully emphasize how decadent it is because in my freako-fat-conscious enthusiasm, i peeled off all visible fats that i could see before eating. but those who love burnt fats will tell you that the taste of it is absolutely sensational because it simply melts in your mouth, leaving behind a lucious aftertaste of sweet meaty fragrance???
ooo...jade seems to be enjoying her usual favourite, dried seaweed seasoned with salt. do look out for the ones with an old man's face on its packaging in the korean supermarket because those are the best tasting ones according to jade! and i can't dispute that so far!hehehe
step 1: get a piece of lettuce
step 2: lay grilled pork belly on top
step 3: add some seasoned shallots, grilled onions and garlic and samjeon (salty spiced sauce)
step 4: put a small amount of rice on top
step 5: roll it up and pop into mouth
yummy!
and this was the leftovers of the seasoned shallots that ellie made. the sauce was made from sugar, light soy sauce, vinegar and sesame oil. it added an extra kick to the flavours that effused from the lettuce fillings we put into our mouths!
hahaha...that's all for now! i hope there will be more pork belly parties to come! and thank you to you wonderful people who made this simple party possible!
much love,
granny bear
