food escapade part 1

from the simple home-cooked meals, to delicious hawker food to "upclass" restaurant food, here is a record of my food escapades from the last 2 years:
look what i made for valentine's this year, honey corn muffins set in heart shape for my besties:) i heart you...
and i baked those lovely undressed profiterole pastries filled with luscious fresh cream...hehe...decadence!
oh and one random lunch date with my bro at the hong kong cafe in cineleisure. the yummy siew mai from the hong kong cafe.
the chicken chop asian-western fusion style sphaghetti that i had and i dumped the leftovers onto my bro's plate. ahaha...

the club sandwich that i had at one of the cafes in the versailles at paris early this jan...nothing fantastic except that the ambience of the cafe was lovely.

the wonderful range of delicate french pastries and cakes at one of the pastisseries i visited with carol...
carol's smoked salmon sandwich for lunch...

a whiff of the buttery fragrance of the french pastries at paul's bakery makes me :)

some lamb linguine thing that was the dish of the day at a small cozy cafe i visited with carol at lille...

i remembered this as the basil pesto linguine that carol couldn't finish and wanted to vomit over...
my pizza with an egg on top...unique but erm...too much for my appetite...

the seafood risotto that carol's housemate esther had kindly cooked for us...

the lobster chinese noodles that i shared with qinyi and some of her friends in london which cost us 13 pounds PER person??!!!??and it's not even that fantastic!rather salty!

this was the sashimi salad that came in a set with carol's grilled cod fish at sun and moon.

the grilled cod fish that was the main dish for carol's lunch set

my grilled teriyaki chicken on a hotplate was fantastic...
this was the california roll that came as a side dish in my set...

this was a tofu and veg casserole dish that we had for my cousin, maxie's birthday dinner last year...
the zi-char (stir fry) fare that is common and unique to the south-east countries...fried rice, hor fun, char mein...

the oatmeal cranberry cookie that i baked as a gift to my friends over the last hols...

heart-shaped raisin scones that i baked...:)
my ideal style of a satisfying lunch...yong tau foo, which is tofu stuffed with meat or fish paste and a spicy and sour tom yam soup i had with it...

mini quiche with garlic bread that i used to prepare for my lunch or dinner when i'm feeling lazy...

omurice that i cooked for june...it's nothing more than chicken fried rice wrapped up in an omelette with cheese sauce and tomato sauce overlaying it...

this was a yummy stir-fried pork hotplate dish that i had in a korean place at cairns last year...tried to replicate it afterwards but nothing beats having food served piping hot in a hotplate!

the grilled salmon lunch i had for my trip to cairns last year was yummy...

this was the first dish esther and i had in cairns...some tuna egg bowl which wasn't as nice as it looks... the cookies and cream icecream cake i made for rach's farewell last year with all the faces of our cell members drawn in....
the shepherd's pie which alison made for one of our social cell dinner in june last year...
i love this dish...daniel's famous spicy and sweet rice cake sticks...

ellie's korean style sweet and sour pork prior to the sauce pouring ceremony...

the korean kimbap (sushi) that i made...smoked ham, omelette, pickled cucumber, crabstick, carrot and pickled radish...

the banana loaf i used to bake lots when banana prices went down last year...

the pikelets breakfast i prepared for june's birthday breakfast last year...

the famous yatala pie...not so nice because this was a sweet pie with a sickly berry taste that resemble that of the sticky cough syrup i used to eat as a child...urgh:(

the strawberry boat?

some chicken puff pastry thing that i made...haha...pardon me for the burnt puff pastry...should have used the proper oven instead of the toaster...

well that's all for now folks. more to follow next time when i'm bored...haha
