this is called thunder tea rice, a traditional hakka dish made up of a unique blend of vegetables, beancurd, fried shrimps, ikan bilis and a sprinkling of roasted peanut to add an extra crunch to the taste. the dish is served with a green tea soup that adds an interesting dimension to the entire taste of the dish. some people find the idea of having green tea served with rice absolutely horrible but for an avid veggie and green tea fan like me, this is the best meal ever yet! and it is so healthy!
this is grilled chicken chop set with black pepper sauce from ashtons. the meal itself is ordinary but for $6.50 without any additional service charge or GST, this meal makes a very satisfying one for the wallet! unfortunately, it also means an extra long wait at the queue with the rest of the money-saving conscious people! next stop i should try botak jones instead! but that's without air-con of course!
this is steamed rice with egg and salmon in a bamboo skewer from shokuda, or the likes of it (can't recall the name). although i generally hate fish, salmon is one of those few exceptions of fish that i do enjoy. and that was why i ordered this dish on the two occasions i went to shokuda with my friends. the restaurant runs marche-style, allowing customers to chose their food from a variety of stalls in the open-market concept. rather refreshing i would say!

this is dry duck noodles from some random food court. not that fantastic as the sauce is too salty. and i guess i made the wrong choice for the type of noodles too...thick yellow noodles make my stomach uncomfortable after a while. but i guess the look of this photo still makes the food tempting afterall so there you go!
alright! preparing happy belly for more yummy eats in the upcoming cny!
happy chinese new year guys!
